My Charge knife, a work in progress

I have been wanting to make either a Wave or Charge knife for some time now and have been trying to get a cheap Wave or Charge on the bay of E (much harder than one would think :facepalm: :D ) I finally snagged a Charge Al that was in a little rough shape but functionally still good :tu: I started with disassembly and cleaning :ahhh



After a good cleaning of the parts it was time to assemble the knife :tu: I wanted to use the scissors, flat driver and small bit driver on the plier pivot end but ended up breaking the scissors at the pivot whilst trying to enlarge the hole :facepalm: So if anyone wants to donate some more scissors I would try again :D I decided for now to put it back together and drill the others at a later date ::) ;) I am still very happy with what I have but if I did have tools in the other end I would have near the perfect companion for almost any MT :dd: I did however make use of the extra space that the tools coming from the other end would have taken by adding a longer LM bit :like: It makes a very nice screwdriver like this :tu: and with the added clip and a newly sharpened blade I am very happy with my progress thus far :salute:



Oh and to accompany the longer reach bit I did have to break the little tab off as well :tu:



Thanks for reading :D also any input on drilling that might make this easier is appreciated :salute: I may use a Dremel with diamond bit this time, last time I was just using a regular drill and I think it caught on the scissors and broke them :oops:

I think they would rather keep the half tools more basic to not eat into their MT sales  ::) :D

I am using this diamond coated stuff to enlarge pivot holes. Works very well. I did that on the recent Supertool blade. Gave up on drilling as I dun have a proper set up for that. But will the scissors work without the lock?  :think:

Little bit of an update :cheers: I borrowed some scissors from one of my Rebars :whistle: and took the can opener out of the Charge knife and placed the scissors there :tu: I would have rather had them on the other end because now I had to swap the bit driver over to the other side (scissor tab is in the way of it going into the handle if it isn't on the side it is on :facepalm: ) and also the scissor tab is a bit in the way of the long bit in the bit driver :ahhh I also will have to file a spot in the bit driver to allow it to close properly because of the lock inside the handle being in the way but I do have scissors in it now and am very pleased with this :like:



The bit driver sitting a bit proud but still not in the way of functioning :salute: just an OCD thing though :facepalm: :D

I have the PE blade and diamond file on the other side but I would have to enlarge the pivot hole if any regular tools were to go in there and if you read earlier I tried to do this to one pair of scissors and it didn't end well  :ahhh

My plan is to put something else over there but I have to wait on stuff to drill them out properly  :tu: and hopefully without breaking anything :facepalm:
