Why do Hammers and Latches go together?
on: November 11, 2018, 11:34:34 PM

1)  The two models which have hammers - the MUT and Signal -  also have latches to keep them in a closed position.  Anybody know why?
2)  The Signal has some looseness of one handle in the closed position - the handle swings around a bit - while other models like the Wave and Surge snap closed with some tension.  Anybody know why?

thanks in advance for your answers.

I do not know why.

Maybe it's to keep the handles together when drawing it from the pocket.

Warning, hammering with the Signal, latch engaged, can result in it bending and locking the handles shut.

They are there to keep the two handles closed if u decide to carabiner carry. They are not like a skeletool where there are the back spring to hold the handles together.

The other models u mentioned have the spring "feet" to assist in holding the handle together. Mut and signal they have it only on 1 side of the handle. So one of the handle will be looser.
