I'm not sure a saw/cutting edge is a good idea in a hair grip, that is asking for a cut finger when taking it out.

I can see it now, cuddling up on a couch with their significant other, running their fingers through her/his hair and holy smurf I'm bleeding, wtf is that!

Actually...not at all dangerous. I know...I own a few of them as part of my collection. They aren't razor sharp...but will do the job in a pinch.

I am sad to say that I also have some.  Frankly I think the heavy steel spring loaded ones from the 80's are significantly more dangerous than these ever could be.
