Tile: For people who keep losing their stuff
on: November 20, 2018, 01:12:41 PM
Not that I lose a lot, actually never, but I upgraded my keys last week.

I bought a pack with two Tile Pro's. One on my car keys and one in the car itself.

For the people who don't know Tile. It's a bluetooth tracker where you can use an app on your phone to find your keys or vice versa. It makes some noise so you can find your keys quickly.
Lost them 'in the wild'? Of other Tile users pass it you'll get a message of where their app last saw it.
Love the idea!!!

Now that I've upgraded my car keys, my normal keys also needed an upgrade.
I've been using a SmartKey for a couple of years now.

But now there's the KeySmart Pro. Same idea, but with a Tile integrated. Hello!!!

It's rechargeable and also comes with a little flashlight and a bottle opener.

Nice upgrade, don't you think?

Interesting!
So, they won’t work if you drop them somewhere that is not in Bluetooth range of a phone?

They will. If another user is walking by and their phone picks up the signal it will send a message to your phone telling where it was last seen.
I live in a small village in The Netherlands and in my neighborhood there are already 120 Tile members.
I think in the US there are way more users.

I think Pabs would need to put a Tile in his Tiles, before putting those Tiles in his gear...

I used to have a tile on my car keys and one in my wallet, but the one time I needed to use the lost item part of it when I lost my wallet walking my dogs, there was so little usage of it in the UK that it was a waste of time. Not sure what it would be like now as this was a few years ago not long after they first came out.

Use a second phone.
And put a tile on that one just to be sure.

Obviously, you need an infinite number of phones for this to work.

Command hooks on wall by door for keychain very helpful, however I had some small coupons I was saving, I had them between the pages of the Victorinox hard cover book "a collectors companion" but I thought the pages were getting a little puffed out around them so I moved them after I took an ambien , now I've spent about 4 hours tearing apart my bedroom looking for them  :ahhh I swear a worm hole opened up and swallowed them, I haven't lost anything this thoroughly since I misplaced a Jetbeam flashlight a few years ago and that sucker is majorly gone.

I dont really need them but it's the insanity of this brain fart giving me so much stress ie I need to know wtf happened and will keep looking
