[NEW] CRKT Slacker and more...
on: November 20, 2018, 09:01:08 PM
 :woohoo:

I'm a big fan of the field stripping tech, probably the greatest innovation in knife tech in the past decade. However, I'm fairly unhappy with the current lineup, the HVAS, certainly a fine knife is too large for me and kinda looks cheap... so I'm delighted to see that CRKT has 3 new field stripping models in the pipeline for 2019.

First and foremost, from the workshop of the master himself:
SLACKER by Ken Onion

Also looking good are PREQUEL by Lucas Burnley and MONASHEE by Russ Kommer

:iagree: about the field stripping tech. And the Ken Onion knife looks nice, the other 2 I didn't like that much but they can of course be good knives anyway

I like that they try new ideas. But a hundred bucks for the slacker. Oh look... camo homefront hunter.

I really like the field stripping tech... great for an EDC knife, especially if you cut a lot of food and that aluminum body looks sleek. Also, I'm fairly confident that this wont be even close to my worst investment :P

We just don't have many shops that carry knives around here and those that do rarely have any crkt let alone new releases.
I am happy to overlook price, materials, lock style etc if the function is there.
But need to know that before buying.

I believe I know exactly where your hesitation comes from  :salute:

IMHO it's very well thought out and executed, I've had 2 models in hand and pulled them apart.

It's not idiot proof, and I believe very simply there's more moving parts to wear out.

That said, how few people use a knife enough to wear it out these days.

Love the design of the Slacker. I'd probably mess it up the first time I'd take it apart, though...
