Alox logo question - first post
on: November 22, 2018, 12:38:35 PM
Hi Multitool.org!

Been a long time lurker of the victorinox forum here and have a quick question. I have searched but had no luck so far!

I've been after a coloured Alox model for a long time and finally found a pioneer x in black which is on its way to me now. The only thing I don't like is the shop logo on the engraving plate.

I was planning on covering it up with some black nail varnish but is there a more permanent way to remove the white shield?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Tom

PS. heres the extent of my multitool modding so far!

Welcome and nice mod!

As far as the logo, I don't j ow of anything that would "fix" it permanently. I think nail polish as you mentioned may be the best way  :dunno:

As far as store logos go, I find that one to at least be aesthetically pleasing. Even if you can't cover it, I think it looks good

:iagree: I think trying to cover/remove would make it look worse. It's quite a nice discreet logo.  :tu:

I have to agree. I think you’re more likely to regret your efforts than to completely make it vanish.

What you could do is buy a black Pioneer and use its back scale on the Pioneer X. Then you could put the Pioneer X back together with screws and do whatever you wanted with the Pioneer parts. Maybe get a pair of scissors and use them build yourself a 93 mm Voyageur.

Welcome to MTO and best wishes with your sweet new Pioneer X!

Welcome, tom!

  :tu:

If that logo is painted over, maybe with time it just wears off.

Thanks for all the messages guys, I think I'll try the nail varnish method and see how I get on. I'll be a user so no real dramas.

@CeHo took me too long to find the seller!

I just realised it's only my first post to the Swiss Army Knights Forum, I hope that still counts

Thanks again for all the help. I'll go back to drooling over some pocket worn alox.
