Best $20.00 multitool I have ever purchased?
on: December 03, 2018, 01:43:05 AM

Well, I may be a bit premature in saying that since I have not used it a whole lot, but I have two of these. The first one was well worth the $39.99 price I paid, and now they are $19.99! It does not have a ton of tools on it, but it is an extremely well made tool. Only the knife locks, but everything else snaps into place very tightly. Have any of you seen or used this? I am not an electrician, but I spotted this at Home Depot several months ago and since I did not have anything quite like it, picked it up. This too was definitely che.....I mean inexpensive, and cheerful!!  :like:

Really loving mine. While the blade is not made to be OHO, I find no problem in one-hand opening of it. I have an idea they did that on purpose, given how some countries really frown upon OHO knives. The cutters cut great, the pliers are tough (I've done fencing with them already), and the drivers are some of the best I've ever had--including dedicated screwdrivers. Sure, minimal tools, but they decided just to put the stuff on it you'd need regularly, not seldomly.

I wish they'd make a version with a combination type head (bolt/pipe grippers instead of strippers).  For my uses, that would be better.

Hey Mike,

I did the same thing. Bought one for $39.99 and then got a second for $19.99.
Quality is consistent and quite good. The whole tool is well thought out for an electrician tool. There is the one issue that a couple of more tools could have been added, but the low tool count makes it simple. Simple can be a good thing. I love the cutter section on mine. They cut regulat 8-32 screws quite well. Though I wouldn't try them on hardened screws.
The strippers are good, but two more gauges would have been nice. Particularly 18g & 20g.
It is heavy and they could have saved weight by using a different handle construction. But, overall, it is a fantastic tool if it can be bought for $20. :)
Congrats on getting yours!  :mail:

That is actually a very neat looking tool, do you know the brand and model of it?
Kind regards,
