Hello, Serena!
I'm just the village idiot, but am a fan of multi function tools/gadgets as well. :)
Hope you don't mind if I follow your corner thread. :cheers:
Don't mind at all!

Hi Serena, mind if I join this merry group? Any corner with this amount of Lego will attract me  :whistle:

Fellow Dutchie but based in Germany :waving:

Lego brings back memories of endless hours spent with my two boys... by now they're 23 and 21 and into other things, but they made a nice € when they sold it all off. (I should've kept one or two items, but they were very obviously short of cash  :rofl:)

Seeing al these topics about SAK mods made me think about what would be my perfect SAK.
If I could choose, this would be the items I want in my knife.

* Large blade
* Scissors
* Nail file with nail cleaner
* Bottle opener
* Can opener
* Phillips screwdriver (magnetic)
* Corkscrew
* Digital scales
* Bit wrench
* Bit case
* Tweezers
* Toothpick
* Stainless steel pin
* Mini screwdriver
* Pen
* LED

Hmmm   :think: :think:. That sound suspiciously like a CyberTool in its original tool complement, minus the LED, nail file, magnetic Phillips and digital scales (you mean the scale with barometer/altimeter/clock etc. and not a digital weighing tool, right?). The CT Phillips is in the (4mm) bit wrench and non-magnetic, alas...
I can, just barely and very dimly, see a possible mod involving some Midnite Manager tools: let the small magnetic Phillips replace the CT's hook, the nail file replace the CT's awl and somehow get the LED into a new scale for the CT...? That would only leave the digital scale missing... Not sure if it's possible to put 58 mm tools into a 91 mm's rear side but I'll let the experts chime in on that.

That sounds like a great knife. Actually also like the CT. The CT ( And my Dream SAK) are big knives. That's gonna give a bulky pocket!!!
I indeed mean the scales with the clock etc.
Strange that there's no nailfile in the bigger sizes btw…

Well, for 91 mm there is the rare variant of the hook with integrated nail file (only on Compacts/Timekeepers). That has no nail cleaner, though.
Long nail files with cleaner tips used to be available in 91 mm as well, but were discontinued around 2010 (http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Nail+File-Long), I think because they often broke - that is also the reason one might find it difficult to find a used, beater 91 mm with an intact long nail file... but maybe not impossible.

Take a Cybertool Lite, remove the pliers, replace the small blade with a 84mm nail file and slap some digital scales on. :tu:  It might be more cost effective to start with an XAVT...

True :tu:. Or: cross a Voyager Lite (some of these might have the hook with nail file, SAKWiki tells me) with a Cybertool S/29 (or M/34 if you need the hook with nail file..., then crossing with a Traveller Lite is OK and gives you more modern scales). No dedicated nail cleaner on those, but various other tools that will do. About the cost effectiveness of starting with an XAVT, not so sure...

I don't think I'll ever be able to get the precise knife I want, but the idea is nice.
Like I said, really like the CT Lite, but it's just too big…

While waiting for the mailman to arrive I visited a local store which sells some Victorinox stuff.
Picked up the mini-screwdriver and steel needle and a black lanyard.

While I was looking around also saw the multi-tool oil and the dual knife sharpener.
While it's always a good thing to do some maintenance on your knives, they need to be in perfect shape, these are very welcome.

At home I remembered I had some other colored lanyards laying around. Which one do you think looks best on a white knife?

Great score!
Orange would look nice I think. And I think I sent you some black or red ones a while back?

The orange ones are quite uncommon I believe. Or maybe that has changed.

Got my first red lanyard from you Reinier. Still rocking my little red MiniChamp. Bought these ones a while ago in Roermond. Orange should go nice with the white right?

Sharpened my Climber and the Wenger (I now know it's the Commander), gave them a bath and cleaned them good before oiling them.

Especially the Commander loved this. It's about 27 years old and it's opening and closing way better now.
Too bad the tip of the knife is a little bit bent, but still a really nice knife. Think I need start carrying this again. Haven't used it in years…

I was cleaning it in warm water. Forgot I opened the blades already. It's just a little cut.
I just sharpened the blades, works great. Ahum…

I doubt it's a real word, but it's one everybody seems to use on a daily basis.

English is great in that you can make up a word when it's convenient for you.  :rofl:
