Fix Mr Pinchy

Hi folks.

Some time ago I managed to buy a almost NIB Multiplier aka Mr. Pinchy as you name it.
Took it out to play with it a bit. Slide plier out and back in, playing with the pliers, you name it.
At one moment, there was some sort if resinstance. Not much, but noticeable. Note: was only playing around. Pressed the plier handles, tool was smooth again, but plierhad has some play now.
I was shocked.

Is this common? And is there any way to fix that?
Hope you Gerber Guys can help me.

I see your Mr Pinchy has allen screws on the slide buttons, are they loose or tight?

Is there any resistance when flicking the pliers and any scratches showing inside the handles?

When you say "plier head has some play now" if it's a bit side to side and more back and forth, then I believe this is normal, they probably rattle to.

I am not too familiar with Pinchies but some early very uses screws on the plier pivot. If yours have 2 holes on the side of the pivot, it could have gotten loose. I suggest u screw out the sliding tabs to have a look at what's going on.

Also, every pinchy up until the ones with rivets in the slides have a bolt and nut in the pivot. If you lost the nut, which I did one time, you'll have to find a beater pinchy to get the nut off of.
Earlier ones had the large "plate" like bolt system and later ones had the fully recessed nut with flat sides to tighten. You can see the common nut in the photo below in one side of the pivot. It can be put back in and tightened with loctite. If it is lost, then a replacement will need to be sourced. The other side of the pivot is a plain top bolt that looks like a basic pressed pin pivot.

*Edit: based off the plier design and shape, your BO pinchy has the same exact pliers as mine in the photo I took. *

Thanks folks for the answers. I think you got me wrong.
I dont mean the plierhead has play against the handle, the plier itself is "broken".
See pic in first post, the plierheads are moved against each other do not align anymore.

Replies 4 and 5 are referring to the plier pivot screw, not the handle to plier screws.
Remove the plier head from the handle and you should be able to see what has happened.

Sorry for misunderstanding, I didn't know the plier head was assembled like this.

The best part about the v.1, v.2, & v.3 pinchy can be a downside once the loctite breaks loose from the plier-head pivot bolt.
