Has anyone else had this problem???
on: December 04, 2018, 03:48:57 AM
I keep falling in love with my donor tools!

I have 5 or 6 projects that I have been working on. (just a little bit here and a little there, no rush no schedule for completion)
Several of these projects involve adding new tools to the project MT, which naturally leads to me needing a donor MT to harvest parts from.

I wanted to make a great key chain MT and I bought the Leatherman Hail intending to cut/weld/destroy it in the process of modding stuff.  But as soon as I snapped my trusty Style PS into it, I was so fixated on how well engineered it was.  A simple piece of metal with a carabiner gate that just holds my leatherman securely with??? I guess friction?!?  Now I don't want to mess with it.  I'm taking it with me when I go snow boarding for new-years!    :D

I bought a used Ka-bar Hobo utensil pocket knife specifically to take the fork and use it for a Mod that I have been working on forever.  But as soon as it came I realized that the fork was too wide and it would be easier to make it from something else.  Now I find myself carrying that thing as part of my EDC a few days a week.

I really wanted a leatherman bit driver for that same project that I wanted the fork.  I also started another project that needed handles and the 4 big tools from a wave.  SOOOO... It just made sense to buy a used WAVE.  I am VERY familiar with the Wave.  My brother had one, I have borrowed it for many situations.  But I rock my Signal or my Crunch most days.  As soon as I got that Wave out of the packaging, I started messing with it.  I am sure you can guess what happened next.  The design, the craftsmanship, the details.  DONT GET ME WRONG, I'm going to rip this thing apart eventually!  But I just LOVE it!
 :multi:

I could go on and on, I probably have at least 5 more examples of this if I thought long enough.
I got a problem.     :(

Oh yeah and then some.

Ripped up a Rebar so I could make a 'better' Charge.
Rebuilt the Rebar using the discarded parts and used it more than ever.

Many times I've given away what I consider to be the better option.
Once I started using option b I get attached to it.

This brought me to the conclusion that using an item gives me more satisfaction than collecting it.
And also that cheaper doesn't necessarily mean it's not as good.

It’s not normally something that I go through, but I recently bought a champ xlt for the pruner and the doctors spoon.  But I went through choppers remorse and I was unable to chop it and now it sits here awaiting a new home.
