I used to be mostly this way.
But over the last few years I have converted to more current offerings.
Yeah mods are still a thing however replacement isn't as limited.

I hear you. Ended buying multiples as I lost my P4. If I have the cash I try to do the same for everything else.

I am in a similar category though  :D

I love the older LM as well and have also modded a few of my own :salute: I, like zoid said, have come around to some of the newer stuff though and it's not to bad ;)

Me too likes more older stuffs than the newer models. Those older models simply work and are better made and better materials. Nowadays, many manufacturers trying to re-inventing the wheels in the name of innovation are really just profit driven attempts in disguise.  :tu:

I'd say "rightful MTo member", but those are just synonyms...

Old and weird, I cop to that :D

Forgot about the Passenger. I modded one several years ago, great minimalist toolset. I have at least two of each of my faves and enough mod-fodder to make as many Vic patterns as I could ever want. Still it seems strange to me that some of the best MTs weren't successful in the marketplace

The Crunch is still trucking along

The fact that the Crunch is still in production gives me a glimmer of hope for the future of humanity :D

To me it's normal. I'm not opposed to buying a Chinese knife, but I flat out refuse to purchase a tool or knife that was once made in USA; and production either outsourced or completely made overseas. Camillus, Schrade, Vise-Grip, and Crescent I won't buy.

What's handy: These are often what I use.

Leatherman Surge; 2011 model. Yeah, still being made, but it now has replaceable cutters (which compromise the strength of the pliers head) and lacks the "eyeglass" screwdriver.
Schrade USA ST-1 "Tough Tool"
Vic Fireman
Wenger Microlight Esquire
Wiss USA 38 Scissors (now made overseas)\
Clauss electrician's scissors
Queen Big Chief Easy Open, Railsplitter, and Q-Tac 4 (as well as a $22 Barlow All Purpose Knife; which does not see carry)
Boker USA 495 "One Arm" Barlow
Couple Kutmaster-made Klein knives without the lock.
Various USA Schrade Old Timers (3OT, 12OT, 33OT, 34OT, 106OT, 89OT); and a lot of other Schrade USA knives.
Camillus USA Cub Scout Knife.
Camillus USA Boy Scout 72 Carpenters Whittler.
Boker USA 3588 Serpentine Pen
Zippo Cut About
Zippo "Pocket Knife"
Case 6488 Large Congress. Discontinued in 1978 (the pattern has seen sparse use for limited editions); this is a 1976 knife.

And just about everything in my toolbag; a good chunk of the brands in there were outsourced or moved overseas.
