Shot Show 2009

What do you think we'll see this year? I'm hoping for a Core replacement with less than 3 inch blades and that the tools are on the outside of the handles. I also wish V-nox would introduce some new designs. Maybe their version of a Juice.

The Vic Juice tools isn't going to happen. But, the new Core will. I got a Holiday email from LM and it said the Core was one of the new tools.. It won't be THAT different!

I think the outside opening tools are patented by Victorinox..might be tough to get around that for Leatherman.

Perhaps a new locking system (or at least a little improved strength wise on the locks) and outside opening :) Crossing fingers ::) :D

Is it a US patent? If not it would probably be easier than one might think, of course Vics not stupid by any standard so they do probably have it covered ::) :D But LM had the folding plier thing patented and that's not been much help ::)

Vic acquired Bear patents when they brought them out a few years back (and resold later) giving ground work for Swiss Tool.

Yup, Vic bought out Bear a while back just to get the designs of their crude* tools!

*"crude" compared to what victorinox did to the designs..

Speaking of the Powercut...SOG should capitalize on their easily taken apart tools...especially the plier heads!  I'd love to see something like a linsemans' pliers head sold seperately.

Yeah, and make it non stainless!!! With that compound leverage we'd finally have a MT that can cut like the real thing!
