Just an update: I decided to gift this SAK to a new friend. I struggled for hours whether to gift it or not, but decided he will value it more as its his first SAK.
Wow, I know I couldn't do it. Not that I haven't given SAKs as gifts before, but I don't think I could ever do it with one that I have any kind of personal history with.
Obviously...

I wore a new pair of jeans during pre Christmas lunch with family and decided to bring my yellow Golfer with me. I even used it that day when I had to cut a loose string, and posted such here at MTO. It was only the other day that I noticed that my yellow Golfer is gone. I guess it slipped out of my watch pocket unnoticed.I feel this sad loss because:(1) Twas a Golfer, predecessor to the Compact, therefore a rare model. I bought this one from a friend; and,(2) I waited and paid a lot for the yellow scales from Russia which took more than two months of waiting.Oh, well. I just hope it's new owner will find it very useful. And I'm just glad I didn't bring my 1970 Elsener SAK that day!(Image removed from quote.)
This sole photo verifies the fact that a knife can never replace a pair of scissors...
