Those combination squares are great to fiddle with, far better than fidget spinners  :tu:

To my horror I found a spec or two of rust myself too! This thread is a life safer!
Those absolute calipers are great!

Yep, i really like them too..my micrometers are practically obsolete now, i will still get the rust off them though incase the world ever runs out of batteries  ;)

Nice mics Borg!! :like:

Thanks WWW, i seem to be missing a 0-1" though, i was so sure i had one, it will turn up  :tu:

Here is a rare one. This one was made by a local inventor some 15 years ago or so. It is basically a device for measuring the nuts, bolts and diameter of round things.

It does that quite well. I guess that main issue might be that a classic caliper style tool of same size does that too, and quite a bit more as well. Still a fun one.

Found it with some more measuring gear. The yellow level has a laser line that projects around a room for hanging shelves and pictures. The really cheap caliper is pictured with my other two, which one is good and one is decent.

I so want a vintage tape measure to carry, I saw these and was like wow, how cool would it be to get one of these and replace the blade, then I found out Stanley put out an anniversary tape measure, it’s suppose to be like that one marked, yet with a little up to date,

I thought of posting in the Vintage Tools topic, but measuring tools are kind of their own thing, and deserving of their own topic.

These were my grandfather's tools.  I've seen lots of 6 foot folding carpenter's rules (in wood), but this is the first folding metal rule I've seen.

Sweet Craftsman folding ruler. That’s what we call a “long” C logo when talking about Craftsman tools. I collect long C Caftsman stuff myself. Awesome ruler to have!

I seem to prefer Stanley. :)

Can't have too many measuring tapes.
If you need one, and y'all know what I am talking about, none are to be found.

Nice Lufkins, Cody! I have a caliper folding rule, but its' condition isn't nearly as good as yours. Still useful though.  :)

Here are some size/distance measuring tools. I left out the more common(or less interesting) stuff like regular ing and such.

Nice opisometer.  Don't see much of those since CAD took over.  I still like them for quick, accurate measurements of plot lines for scaling in while out in the field.

I didn't know the technical name for that, so opisometer. Definitely works better than "distance scale rolly thingamabob."

I always carry a 3 foot Stanley tape measure in my pocket.

This photo was taken a few years ago and I have added to the collection since then.

I've never gotten a digital one because I thought that extra electronic adds a point of failure.
However, it emerged lately that I could use something that is better readable

Maybe it's time to get one of those

Lol, I completely agree with the batteries! I used to have one similar to the one posted below but it was all stainless steel, but for some reason it grew legs in the many times we moved, as far as reading I got 20/15 vision, it’s the one thing that’s actually still good on me, but I’d still go with the digital cause I’m lazy and it makes it easier to read in that way, lol..
