I broken one in my wallet years ago under the weight of my butt - it over-flexed and cracked. Afterwards I was gifted a SwissCard Lite and I just kept it for a few years without carrying. When I got a card wallet last spring, more solid, and carried in a front pocket, I added the SwissCard Lite again. Makes for a great minimal carry. I have used most of the tools at one point or another, from the magnifier to the needle. I really like the design of the SwissCard Lite a lot. It even won a Red Dot design award some years ago.

Yeah, that swinging door is very fragile...!I think that’s why Victorinox came out with the classic...
I'm fairly certain there was a version with a scale on it, you you could use the "swinging door" to measure angles. :salute:

I recently submitted to Vic, that they should change on side of the NailCare into a mirror (I even suggested they could add a spotting hole). I got no reply, so I think they are not interested, too bad, I really liked that idea.
Yes sir... The swisscard original Gen 2 has the protractor behind the sliding door... i did mention this above...

I was also planning to do a mod to one of my swisscards to add a signalling mirror on the back... Seems like the quattro is the only one that has the hole on the corners... once I source some mirrors, I’ll get cracking... Maybe Victorinox needs a concept proof for a survival card

Got the idea from Wenger’s travel card btw...

No worries Poncho... just be warned, the nail file is quite brittle as it is made of the same plastic material as the card... That’s where I don’t get it... Vic should have just used the same nail file as the classic with a little change in the handle profile...

Vic does that, then I’m switching from the Lite to the Nail Care...
The nail-file is glass, its the gold standard for nail-files.
But apparently does not whitstand back pocket wallet carry

Hence my thinking on the classic nail file... doubles as a flat sd too

I have a couple, and IMHO the Nailcare is the best of the lot.

After finally finding one at a non-inflated price a few months ago I no longer have to feel completely naked aboard commercial airliners.

I have a blue & red lite version, I always keep one on the computer desk for magnifying glass, its very handy. You can also shine a flashlight through the glass and see the emitter, the centering and the reflector on a wall, its pretty cool(standard flashlight lens, doesn't really work with TIR lens)

My older blue one has red led, newer red card has white led, both are very dim and practically useless  :dunno:

theres also a metric and std ruler on it. The knife is useful as a letter opener but it's handle is not very robust. The cards are good for a work desk area or your bedside table, possibly in a backpack since they are so slim & lightweight, but would choose a regular sak for most tasks and use this only as a backup. They do have a high coolness/gadget factor  :tu:

Decisions... Decisions... decisions... hahaha

May I suggest either the Lite or the Nailcare... The Lite if you prefer the the LED light (moonlight/low power mode only) and the NailCare if you’re OK with no blade...

Both have the mag glass and quattro sd...

I've carried a Yamaha promotional Vic Quattro off and on for several years now. Sometimes it's nice to have a small sharp blade as opposed to large blades on my ST300 or Vic Trekker.
Mine cracked years ago when I carried a soft wallet in my back pocket, but a little super glue fixed that (although not pretty). Now I carry a hard wallet in my front pocket so it makes a great divider between my drivers license and other cards.

Recently I found an eBay seller that claims to have a stack of old stock Wenger TravelCards.
The price seems too good for these to be real, but I bought a couple anyway .
These weren't manufactured by Wenger to begin with, nor can I remember ever seeing a knock off of them... so who knows. We will see when I get them.

Glad this thread was done and a lot of great information. I think, for me, I would rather have a regular SAK. The cracking. That would be a issue with me. Maybe in an office environment it would be ok. In a suit, yes.  But out in the woods, hiking and camping would be totally a wrong fit. But, if I were still working in a office, I would consider it.

I think the SwissCard is a great addition to any MT, as it has a quite different tool-load. SAKs + MT are often quite redundant. Cracking is only a question on how you carry it.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Haven’t seen what a Secrid wallet looks like... The swisscards are about the same width of a credit card, shorter in length... and is about 5 credit cards thick...

Oké, thanks. The Secrid has a mechanism for 6 cards. This will be too thick to add all the other cards I need to carry with me.
