I was thinking you need to leave it at fly reels and add fly tying to it. We could show the flys we have made and used. :dunno:

Thanks to SteveC for the title change, and Nix for the winner, and an honorable mention for Rapidray and his suggestion

Good timing starting this thread now!  :like:

I spliced on some Nanofil line to my Pflueger President spinning reel this afternoon. One-too-many birds' nests made some new line advisable. And I thought I'd try out this new Nanofil stuff.

I used a double nail knot to splice it on, but the knot is well buried on the reel. Re-attached a snap swivel, as well. I'm hoping to get some river time this week!

SAK scissors are so useful for these common fishing tasks! I love 'em.  :tu:

I was curious to see that several of the Vic SAK's named for fishing don't have scissors!  :o  What were they thinking?

New Angler: no scissors
Angler Plus: no scissors
Deluxe Angler: has scissors
Bass Fishing: no scissors
Fisherman: has scissors
Fisherman Plus: has scissors
Master Fisherman: has scissors

AKA: "Deluxe Tinker"

I prefer the pliers to the fish scaler. The pliers can be used to remove hooks (like forceps), as well as crimp barbs when fishing barbless. Pliers might be useful for crimping split shot as well....haven't tried that.

I might prefer the corkscrew to the Philips, but that doesn't seem quite as important a point. Might be nice to have that little eyeglass screwdriver for tightening up the old polarized sunglass, though.

For that one, I would be right behind it!
I don’t understand why the angler doesn’t come with sissors. Or a scaler for that matter.
