February 2019 spending spree challenge
on: January 06, 2019, 05:14:43 PM
I'm wondering if there is any interest in a February 28-day spending spree challenge.
You would have to buy at least one Victorinox/Wenger item per day.  :mail:

I think I could do it, anyone else interested?  My hope is that it wouldn't be too much of a burden, although it may hurt the budget.
I figure if it gets too expensive, I could buy a lanyard or toothpick for a few days to offset so much buying.  :dunno:

At least this is the shortest month of the year.

Anyone on board or plan to watch?
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

If you locate Classics at $10 each for 28 days you will have spent $280.  Not including taxes, shipping/handling cost, or gas and car expenses if acquire locally.

Then if you purchase more than one on a given day, that is still only one days buy.

Likely need a picture of purchase and receipt to qualify. 28 separate purchases is not the MTo way.

I will watch from the sidelines  If you decide to continue
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

These last two months have been a spending spree challenge for me, or so it seems ...  :ahhh

I guess it's quite obvious that I'm out, but I will watch others go for it  :D.

Meanwhile, I will wait until the participants start selling their "spending spree" goodies during their "March 2019 in dire need of cash challenge" .

After reading all of the replies I am thinking this should probably have a dunce cap badge if completed.   :twak:
But in my defense, if I were to buy right, maybe I would get some gems and sell off the unwanted ones that were purchased to make a profit.  :dunno:

How about "buy a SAK every day for a year?".

I'd join but I've already bought waaaaaaay too many knives last year (more than a year's worth). Also, I've vowed to concentrate on exceptional pieces and I don't see a way to find that every single day for a month straight :D

Good luck though, I'll be curious about what you purchase (and the total amount spent )

With my budget, that would probably equate to going to the local knife store each day and buying one toothpick, tweezer, pen, etc. And even that would still add up to nearly my monthly hobby budget at $1.50 a piece.

Hmm.  Let me weigh my options here.  I could buy a new SAK every day for a month or I can pay my mortgage and utility bills. Boy, that's a tough one.
