Day 4A trip to the hardware store and those bulk bins look like they would make a good pic...
Since I had both work to do, and was running some errands today, I put my jeans on today, and the excellent leather sheath on my belt (in the horizontal position). I got quite a bit done with the unseasonably warm weather (65 degrees Fahrenheit). I cut some large decorative grass with the gas hedge trimmer and worked on some power equipment. Garden tractor needs a battery--one in it is the original, which is 20 years old and is constantly in need of charging or jumping. Tires are dry-rotted too; and barely hold air without Fix-A-Flat or Slime being put in regularly. These will be fixed soon, hopefully. I can do most of it myself, minus putting the tires on; it will be serviced in the Spring at the dealer (as is usually done annually), but am trying to save my folks some cash. Pliers: Removed stripped out screw on chicken coop door, bent rake tines back straight, and removed oil plug on tiller. Phillips: installed Phillips screw on chicken coop. File: Filed away childproof tabs on Listerine cap. (Image removed from quote.)

Great demonstration Greg shame that the can opener doesn’t cut nicely

The can openers on my TTs are extremely sharp and I've used them as package openers before. I haven't opened any cans, but will give it a try during the challenge after reading Greg's post. The placement does look unfortunate. Too bad the original TTs are riveted. The Taylor brands ToughTools don't even have an edge on the can openers. Thanks for the demo, Greg!
I think Schrade fixed the can opener after the first ToughTool version. Here is a photo of the edge grind on all of my later US TTs.(Image removed from quote.)
I'm noticing quite a difference throughout production, I see a saw blade where I have a really nice serrated blade, and Noa has scissors, I'll take a picture of my tool load tomorrow
Today, I used the Phillips removing some screws helping my grandmother prep to paint the hallway. I'll try to see if I can find a can to open with the opener tommorrow. My opener feels sharp. Also carried my first-ever knife, given to me when I was 10 by my Granddad, a late 1970s model Schrade USA Old Timer 34OT and a Camillus-made Remington lightweight lockback. Great comparison photos every one. I've been curious about the can opener myself. I'm going to have to give mine a work out soon.Today I put the phillips driver and "awl" to the test. The phillips itself worked well but the handles tend to partialy open up while using it. the "awl" on the other hand would make a better cable stripper than "awl". It's "blade" shape reminds me of the cable stripper on the chisel stripper blade of the Spirit.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Love the OLD TIMER Cody.
