Show me your office EDC
on: January 10, 2019, 07:51:20 PM
For those of you while followed my posts over the years will know I worked in a famous retail store in London's West End. In that job my carry had settled on one small/medium tacticool knife, one medium/large MT,one SAK,one AAA torch, two Zebra Mini Expandz pens, and a Vic Manager as backup on my work ring.

My adventures in retail seem to be over, and it looks like I'm heading into an office environment. I'm looking at the idea of a Vic Recruit matched to my Kirkyclip Leatherman mod(a Sideclip with the blade replaced with scissors).

Office workers, inspire me! Show me your office EDC!

for me it is mostly Pioneer or Farmer that should be coupled with a smaller light

At my office right now, so no pictures at the moment.  However, I carry a bandanna and a hair comb in my back pocket, a Gerber EAB and Fenix E01 loose in pocket,  a Classic on the keyring, and usually a clicky pen and small notebook. I am very fond of the Zebra 301 fine point. Plus wireless headphones. That's in addition to wallet, keys, and phone.

Gerber Shard hidden in the pencil mug on my desk and a SAK (probably most often a Spartan) in my pocket. Simple as that covers enough for me to be happy. Pocket carry of Vic Pruner + Brewzer is something I've used as an alternative to just a SAK too.

oddly enough we rarely need scissors. only time we really needed them the ones on the Classic that is in my coat were used simply because they were easier to control. and that is just convenience while we were making a captain america shield for our boss.
I also have a need for drivers but it is better to have those dedicated, at least for me

No blades allowed here, so my office pocket carry is a Style PS, modified Gerber Shard and an AA light along with my phone, Leuchtturm notebook and a mechanical pencil.  I also keep a modified Gerber MP400 in my desk that comes in handy occasionally.

My current office EDC is the Quantum Mechanic plus LM Style CS (cause the QM doesn't have scissors ::) Although Style CS' scissors are better too)

I didn't need much when I worked (retired about a year now): Keys, watch, wallet and a SAK.
That's my Compact, carried that for years before the Pioneer X was introduced.  Both served me well in the office.

I also have a tendency to stash away those small derma-safe razor blade knives (bought a big box of them from https://www.derma-safe.com/ ) wherever I know I will need them. Good cutters in an office setting, and I can give them to people and not worry whether, when, or in what condition they will be returned.

I keep a Jifi cutter in my desk. They're great.

I work primarily from a home office in New York City but still feel the need to actually carry something around the apartment. For a good long while that was a Vic Waiter which changed to a Vic Executive and is currently a Wenger PTC. When I work in the office in Tennessee I carry a Boker Mini Kalashnikov switchblade simply because it is fun and legal and the people I work with couldn't care less. I also usually have a Sebertech M4 in my pocket and if I'm wearing a jacket or have a bag with me a Juice XE6.

Thanks for the replies!

I'd fun at the evaluation....

My laptop bag needed to be x-rayed

The security people were very nice and held onto my DofE  SAK until I'd finished the evaluation

Vic Spirit X most of the time.

My work bag also has a Knifeless Rebar, 6 screwdrivers, cable cutters, Fenix LD10 and Fenix PD32.

The security were nice and chilled about it. But if it had of been a actual confiscation, its have been me dumping the interview!

I think in general a good base for office-style carry is a 2 layer SAK.

Just what I’ve noticed :tu:

I tend to go for small, inoffensive carry, but my daily need for it really isn't there. I've seen many counsel for something that won't raise eyebrows, or make people scream. There are those who will carry whatever. Many don't carry a knife whatsoever and get by just fine. I could probably get by with that Jiffi cutter to open the odd box or packet of food or some such. If I really boiled it down to what I use in an office daily, I would be left with notepad, pen, anti reflective glasses, and my earbuds . Everything else is gravy

I could get by without carrying a pocket knife, but I want to carry a knife.

A pocket knife is ridiculously useful, but apart from making my life easier, an important application is being a grown man's comfort blanket.  :D

My office carry is a full size multi(usually rebar, currently OG supertool, often changes by the day) , kershaw cryo, gerber shard, flashlight, pen + permanent marker, and a notebook. Then again, I am primarily a field going employee, so even an "office day" often ends up with me leaving the office to do something. Maybe I'm in the wrong thread...
