I didn't need much when I worked (retired about a year now): Keys, watch, wallet and a SAK.
That's my Compact, carried that for years before the Pioneer X was introduced.  Both served me well in the office.
Love that watch.

I fly a desk in an office.  Here are my needs (sadly boiled down to reality):
Finger nail maintenance
Beard maintenance
Tooth pick
Tweezers
Blade for cutting up meat when I nuke it too long
Light for seeing under desk (locating dropped pen)

A Vic Classic covers it all,  except lunch.  So,  I have a classic in my desk drawer,  but carry a Climber and aaa Olight in my pocket.

I would really like a Compact,  but end up going to visit my patents after work,  and like having the drivers,  and awl.

Here's my core edc for week days.  Vic Classic in the desk drawer,  ready for discrete action, Vic Climber, and Olight i3 EOS aaa flashlight,  both on a home made dangler,  on person. This covers 99% of my needs at work.  The Climber's main blade will work for cutting food. The black scales keep it from attracting attention. The dangler keeps the Climber and small light from printing on the bottom of my dress pant pockets.

I do lack a defensive knife:(

I bring my lunch in a basic backpack,  but have some back up gear and water bottle in there.  This bag will get me through a night away from home, andhandle basic first aid. I take the whole backpack during fire drills.  There is a Leatherman Wave,  Olight S3, tactical spork (don't laugh), reading glasses,  pen,  batteries,  etc. In there.

The guy who sits to my left has a Trapper he uses for food. I don't see the appeal; carbon steel interacts poorly with some foods, makes it taste funky. I am a huge fan of leaving a paring knife in my lunch bag, along with a spark and a cutting board. Using a folder for food doesn't make sense to me.

I actually have a toolbox in my office, so I don't need to pack particularly for that. It is of course depending on the office/company. I mostly use a knife and occasionally a nail-file (I carry the Swiss Card Nailcare). Another helpful item is a spot-removal pen.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Interesting thread Kirky  :salute:

In the office I'd need something for little grooming and the nails occasionally (file, tweezers, scissors), a small blade to open a pack of paper for the printer etc., and a blade for food prep.

I've settled down to aVic. Minichamp plus an additional medium knife.
Or just my Yeomatt (with file on the hooks back).

Currently I'm switching between the following options based on mood, weather and whatnot...

1. Minichamp + Pioneer
2. Minichamp + Case Mini Trapper (Thanks Jack)
3. Minichamp + Cadet
4. Yeomatt

Vic Spirit and Knipex plier wrench and Cobra pliers in a tool bag..
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I might be crazy but it's kept me from going insane- Waylon Jennings

If you like old technology, I did a blog on the HP-12C’s history many years ago here  :salute:
