I D this SAK please
on: January 17, 2019, 09:30:07 PM
Recently found this in a drawer. Forgot about it for quite a while. About the same size as my Cadet. As best I remember, I got it in the mid to late 1980s as a gift and just put it away. Maybe a version of the Tourist??? Can opener is rather sharp. Thank you.

My guess would be that it's a Wenger Viking ...

Edit: This is what I could find in the SAKWiki :  Viking

I do believe... but I could be wrong... as I'm no Wenger expert... that is... a... Wenger Viking.

Looks like mine is a backpacker II, but without the toothpick and tweezers.

Backpacker.
That’s what I thought, but sakwiki says the backpacker has a Phillips instead of the corkscrew.

Kirk Douglas in the Vikings 1958. The first film to do actual research on the subject before and during production... rather than just have fellas running about in horny helmets. It's still Holywood to a certain degree, but at least they made the effort. Also, filmed on location too!  :tu:
