Didn't see anywhere else to ask, so here it isI want to send a small item from Atlantic Canada to the Netherlands, it weighs next to nothing and the package would be approximately 8×8×8 inches, I checked with the Canada post office in my community and was quoted 78.00 Canadian, this seems crazy but I have no experience doing this, any thoughts?The item would be a gift to another memberThanks for any help

Thanks guys. Chako that link was what I needed, it offers 6 options with prices ranging from high 70s all the way down to just under 10 which is appropriate for the item

But that shouldn't be a real concern unless the item is valuable.I've had five or six untracked packages from Canada containing Swiss Army Knives in the past years and each and every time it was delivered to me (in the Netherlands) within a week!
I don't ship international, but I know parcel carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx...) have the thing called "dimensional weight", which means a large 2-lb package costs more to ship than a smaller 2-pound one. Keeping your package close to net shape of the item may save you some money.
