I don’t have a Mini Champ, but I’ve always wondered if they really offer enough additional utility to justify the weight penalty over the Classic. If I can’t find a cheap used one, I’ll still be a spectator.

Show me what the Classic’s big brother can do!

This is apealing.  I've been curious about the MC.  I'll have to see how things go with the Schrade Tough Tool challenge and if the month of February is kind enough for me to find one I at the right price in time.  I may just be challenged out for a little while.  We will see.

Do it Dougie, do it!  :pok: We can be like MiniChamp buddies... bit like going to the gym... or pub.

Even if I'm not challenged out, I still have to find a Mini-Champ or they won't let me in the Pub.

I'm in. But I'll have to buy another MiniChamp. The one I owned before had multiple issues, and my sharpening skills were in their infancy, so I made a mess out of the tracheotomy (emergency/Wharncliffe) blade.

Okay, I picked you 3 as you're all in the US which makes shipping less expensive for me, and here's my offer.  Cody gets first pick, then Mizedog, then Douglas gets the last one by default.
I have 3 extra MiniChamps that are used that I have picked up along the way.  They're very nice, just not mint, and not in original box.  I will offer these to you for free and shipped for free.  It is not a pressure to participate either.  Just so you can have them and find out what the mighty MiniChamp is all about.

The left one is a Midnite Mini with a dim RED LED light.  The middle and last one are standard and pretty much the same..they show some scale wear mostly.

Cody, what's your pick?  Once you pick, please PM your shipping address.

Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Could I start the challenge on the 4th of 5th of march (and then do it until may the 4th or 5th)?

I'm going to Vienna for a long weekend starting the 1st of march and since i'm travelling with only hand luggage I can't take the MiniChamp with me  ::)

I don't think that's an excuse. The size of te MiniChamp is ideal to hide in *erm* bodily cavities...

Yikes!   I'm floored,  and humbled!  When is my turn,  I'm happy to take one with red scales ;) I will follow that up with putting my other SAKS to rest for the entirety of the challenge so I can participate in earnest.  This will be a good challenge as I will be traveling a bit during March. Come to think of it,  I traveled during the Executive Challenge and survived.

Thank you,  you Enabler ;)

Most coloured aloxes have the logo of the selling store on the engraving plate. While this Minichamp was not made on request, since it has "Victorinox" engraved, it was made by Vic for selling through their own stores.

I'll search for an example of a store logo. Give me a sec

Most currently available, if not all, red alox Minichamps are made on request by a store.
Like this one from Schweizer messer Essen:

Note the store logo on the engraving panel.
