Day 14

My new refrigerator has a feature where I can look inside it without holding the door open, or I can even see what's inside if I'm at the store from my cell phone.
Can you spot the MiniChamp?

Day 14

Opening a package, my meds and a beer. The latter was a semi-failure: a soft but tight cap and the decidedly not ideal caplifter of the Minichamp resulted in a slip, the edge of the cap cut my finger. I guess the 58 mm bottle opener is really only for "in a pinch" situations.

Right, MiniChamp didn't chop all this, but he did open the frozen prawns... and a packet of Haribo...

Scissors snipped a loose thread, blade sharpened down a wooden shim to make a pick to remove dirt from the tread of my workboots, and pill counting blade pried open the latch on my leather care box.

I've been holed up in the house during Colorado's 2019 "Bomb Cyclone". Winds reached 90 mph, and we have 5 foot snow drifts around the house. The basement window wells filled up. The Minichamp helped for beard,  and nail maintenance.

As of this morning I have used the Wharncliffe to open my medicine, and the pen to write my list of stuff to pick up at Walmart while on the Matchbox collecting run. Decided I'd take the photo early, since my camera is always plugged into the PC, and I don't carry it with me.

I'm not sure if I'm still viable to contend. I haven't been posting every day.
I did try to make a picture every day, but the MC didn't see much use.

Mactire - MCC day 11
Used the large blade to open a package. I had this sitting packaged for way to long...

I've been wanting a Higonokami for a while and am glad I did.

Mactire - MCC day 12
No use today. Just posing in a group picture:

Hanyman, CT and MiniChamp
As far as screwdrivers go, the CT seems to be first choice. But I do like the Philips on the MiniChamp.

Mactire - MCC day 13
Did some prodding and poking with the MiniChamp.
Remember the Swissmemory I modded? Well, this happened:

I should have filled the housing with something to prevent the back pushing out.
I did not get the metal part out of the housing with the MC today.

Mactire - MCC day 14
The philips screwdrives has proven it's worth. I love this tool.
Bought a new kichen timer that needed it's batteries installed.

Sadly, the batteries were dead. So I used the coke-spoon to remove the batteries.

And used the Philips screwdrive to reattach the cap

Mactire - MCC day 15
Breakthrough today! I've been pondering how to get the metal part out of the Swissmemory for a few days and decided to give it one more go with the MiniChamp.
The Warncliffe knife was just sleek enough to catch the metal behind the plastic rib (if that makes sense).
With the assist of the Handyman Pliers it came out! Great success!
Now to find some plastic to plug the hole.
