An update for anyone who wants to read it
on:
February 05, 2009, 05:29:38 AM
Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been on here lately (as if I had unique information to add
). I'm still trying to stay on here as much as I can, just a lot of stuff has gone on. A while back I told you all about my Dubai situation, and I thank you all for your support. I have an update for you all concerning the situation. My dad left a few days ago (last Friday, to be exact) to go to Dubai, and started work on Monday. I won't see him again for about six months, but in a few weeks we will be a little closer to normal with a steady stream of income. The main thing is that my parents have decided to not move to Dubai. After these six months (which would have been the same anyway) my dad will come back home, rather than us going there. There is a chance that after a couple weeks here, he would go back for another few months: it depends on if he can get a job locally. But the future is definitely looking brighter! I still am planning on selling a bunch of stuff (including knives and multitools, although you probably don't believe me, since I never put any up for sale!). I'm also planning on getting a new trumpet this summer, and participating in marching band at MY high school
. The bad side is that I won't be working for a while... at least not in a warehouse. Since my usual employer is in Dubai, I will probably end up getting a part time job at a grocery store or something like that, which means I won't be using multitools quite as much. I still am going to keep (and-when I can-use!) a few of my favorite multitools (and maybe I'll even get one of those PowerAssists, because I think the bloody things finally came out!). Anywho, I just wanted to let you know I'm not dead!

Good luck to you and your family. Try not to sell the rare and precious to you MTs and knives as you might regret it later, and they will be much harder to come by. Grocery store job will require you to open boxes and fix shelves etc... so a good mt is a must

Glad to hear you're not dead
The band thing sounds good. My wife plays the trumpet, started with the school swing band and still plays today in a local dance band. Though I do sometimes wonder if its the music or the soSmurfpillsing she does it for
I really should have learned to play an instrument.

Good to hear from you Joey
I guess you've mixed feelings about the Dubai move huh? Concentrate on the positive aspects, like staying near you friends etc. You'll find that 6 months flies by, even though it seems like a long time at the moment.
I agree with the others that if you do end up working in a grocery store, there'll be plenty of opportunity to use your MT. Failing that, do what I do and break stuff so you can fix it again
I used to come here a lot.

Time will fly,and to very loosely, very broadly paraphrase Rudyard Kipling: take each waking hour and fill it with 60 minutes of living, and those 6 months will pass in a twinkling.
