Cool knife, Spartan! Where'd you find that? And is that a bottle opener on the shackle key?

Wichard do make a range of interesting maritime-themed knives and multitools.

Many of them glow in the dark, or float!

Some might find them a bit "chunky" for daily pocket carry - but when you're cold, wet, it's dark, and maybe you're wearing gloves - it can be just what you need!

(Knives are not Wichard's primary line - they do marine hardware and fittings - but a Wichard knife will earn you some street cred in the appropriate circles as being a "real boatie" )

Thanks thundabeagle! I found it at a marine supply store called West Marine in Rhode island. I like how it has the bottle opener like the old gaks have :like:

I owned one folding Wichard, though it was the other series. I didnt like the plastic handles, just felt cheap and light duty. Anyway i unsderstand that light weight and glowing color appeal to sailers. They do make a very nice single piece fixed marlin spike/multitool.

Shouldn't really bump this, but.

I found this one on eBay for less than $10 shipped and decided to get it to add to my pile of work beaters.   The Offshore line seems to have largely replaced these old boxy looking ones. I inadvertently found I can buy a new one for $25 shipped. Since I do collect rope knives, I guess I'll get that one for the collection.

I figure at less than $10, I haven't blown much if this knife is a dud. My main concern is the locking mechanism. It appears to be some kind of button lock. If the current ones are a mid-lock, Wichard had to have found problems with the old mechanism.
