So far, my thoughts are as follows: Yes, the Surge is a heavy tool; that's kinda to be expected. It's built for heavy work, which is what I do, so it fits in well. A lot of my problems stem from it being an older model: the fixed cutters don't cut too great, the saw holder gives me a lot of trouble and fits jigsaw blades loosely; but I do like the Core plier head and fine screwdriver the older model gives me. The blade is uncomfortable with a lot of pressure, something an old design like an ST300 or PST doesn't do. Cutting wire; especially hard wire, is the other way around on those models--but that's why they recommend you wear leather rancher's gloves when doing so. With those, that problem is alleviated.
On another note, I've got a hankering' for a Fuse; going to the 'Bay right now to get one.
Day 30, final day.
Did some cutting with both blades; and I noticed my old Miller's Falls 2-A drill had two oil ports for lubricating the shaft that I hadn't paid any attention to before. Used the eyeglass screwdriver to ensure no gunk was in those holes before oiling them both.
