Day 12 - supplies received today, Friday, stocked shelves and used the surgically sharp PE to slice open and cut down boxes for recycle bin.


I used scissors today as well to open some Robin Eggs and filled my candy canister on end table.  (Picture will be posted later)

Day 8. Odds and ends. Thought I could straighten the ends of the cotter pin and pull it out of this shackle (as to be able to easily remove the pin), but no.  Had to grab the Dremel and cut it out. It was fairly low carbon steel, but man was it tough!  This pin clip  is wrong. It's the biggest I could find. Needs to be about 2 sizes bigger. And I don't trust it. Looks like Granddad jerry-rigged the hole in the pin in the first place. I'm getting a threaded shackle in this size as soon as I can find it.  I'm building a kit for a Reese Farm Jack (Hi-Lift rip off).

I also made another jig for cutting bottles. The first one worked fine, but as it was the first I ever made, I just cut anywhere, and the tape ended up 12mm wide.
I took my time cutting, and made the blade slot shorter, so the tape comes out at exactly 5mm width. Plenty strong, and much more length out of one bottle.
It works just as well as the other, and the whole bottle gets cut into a single strip.

Still, the set-up is not ideal. The block of wood is too large, and the blade is just held by friction. I'd like a smaller block of wood, maybe a nice shape to be hand-held, and a more permanent solution for the blade, that can also be removed and replaced easily.
But this works for now.
