The Coffee Connoisseur Consortium - Live by the Cup
on: February 01, 2019, 07:00:24 AM

So recently it has become apparent that several members here, including myself, are coffee juggernauts.
I do not discriminate when it comes to coffee. From a cup of cheap “gas station” coffee, homemade Mr. Coffee, a genuine Turkish coffee, coffee based energy drinks, a cappuccino, a cold Frappé, to a finely crafted latte and beyond; they are all appreciated for their existential nature. That being to caffienate the body and, ultimately, the soul.
While my preference is to enjoy a fine cup of high-end coffee, a latte, or other crafted coffee beverage; most coffee is appreciated. Except for stale coffee, re-used grinds coffee, and similar coffee-criminal offenses. There is a line after all. :D

The taste, the aroma, and the look are all appealing. Coffee, in one form or another, is my drink of choice from the moment I awake until the moment I ready for bed.
Sometimes it accompanies me through the night and barreling into the next day. It is wonderful, mystical, full of possibilities and something that keeps the metaphorical cogs of the mind going day to day.

Who else likes coffee?

Love coffee. At the risk of being burned alive for heresy though, I only drink decaf these days. Um, proper decaf though (if there is such a thing) in ground form, made in a press or a stove top Italian thing. I don't miss that caffeinated 'monkey mind shakey' feeling.

There are always reasons one must make the saddening transition to decaffeinated coffee. The stove-top coffee flavor does sound as if it would be very nice. A caffeine exemption status shall be recorded and your username added to the Consortium! Welcome!

Coffee is the most important meal of the day.
Much agreed, sir! A simple and elegant truth that is. Welcome to the Consortium!

I'm with Mags....sort of.

I love coffee (having a cup of coffee now as I type....). But I turn into a bit of a cranky beast if I've had too much. I once had a coworker who used to think it was hysterical to get me to drink extra coffee. He enjoyed watching me turn into the Hulk...

...and then go tearing things apart. It only took me ten years, a few destroyed office blocks, and a trail of headless victims to realize that I do better with decaf. That doesn't stop me from having a couple cups of full-strength in the morning, though.

Best if I stick with tea...really.....hmmmm...* pauses to refill coffee cup...*

Your hulk-crush reaction to the coffee-divine is notable, Nix! Thy enjoyment of coffee, and commitment to limiting a hulk-inducing amount, is commendable. Welcome to the Consortium.

As I have stated here before, I am very picky about my coffee. I only like it if it is hot, cold, iced, fresh, stale, sweet, unsweet with cream, without cream, latte, espresso, cappuccino, frapaccino, coffee icecream, coffee cake, in a cup, in a glass, in a bottle, or poured over a bale of hay. I just don't like it any other way. ...........

I had won a $50 shoprite gift card a couple of years ago in some fantasy football contest they had, so I used it to buy a Keurig that was on sale for $80, been using it ever since, so much easier, but you have to get decent K cups, some are not strong enough, mainly go for the darker blends. I like Peets Major dickason or starbucks sumatra and green mountain dark magic.

Indeed, it's never a bad time to enjoy a cup of coffee. Especially late at night. If you can fall asleep, the dreams are awesome.  :woohoo:
I'm off to bed myself, but did just finish a nice iced French Vanilla flavored brew. Extra strong for crazy smurfing dreams. :woohoo:
