Had food poisoning last year. No coffee for three days. Couldn't tell which was worst, the food poisoning or the caffeine withdrawal headaches.  :ahhh

When feeling better, I invited a friend to have coffee with me at a local shop. She had 2 cups and I consumed 11 cups. All espresso drinks.

I like coffee!
We had a new kitchen installed in 2017 and we got a built-in Siemens automatic coffee/espresso machine. So convenient and the design matches both Siemens ovens next to it.
I'm not too pedantic about this - true connaisseurs prefer a separate ceramic grinder I think.
A small Italian moka pot is a fun way to make coffee too. A bit more work, I use it only when camping.
I work as an IT consultant and the coffee at my clients is generally... so... very... bad... Really awful.

We may need to see a photo of the Siemens unit, as to see what a top-of-the-line integrated home coffee/espresso center looks like.

I know about the crappy client coffee. In-home tech for years as a side job. Customer asks, "what would you like to drink", and I say "nothing". They insist and I say "coffee lightly sweet." They bring it to me and I have to nearly hurl through the 11oz Christmas mug full of badly brewed coffee they placed at the computer desk.

Now I have my own personal coffee maker at my current job. Boss pays for the coffee and additives. I make it like I want.  :woohoo:

Welcome to the Consortium, Reiner!

Cafe Bustelo through a stove top percolator.

Easy on the cream and sugar.

Good choice, Thundah! I used to use the Bustelo espresso grind in the coffee maker. Surprisingly smooth and stout in flavor for the low price range. Going to have to pick some up next time I go-to the store. Welcome to the Consortium, Thundah!

I tried to keep coffee down when I was sick, but everything that I ate/drank left the way it went in for a few days, if you know what I mean. :ahhh :(

Wow. That box is a thing of hyper goodness. Well, if they're gone, it was money well spent. :woohoo:

coffee to me is also a memory-binding drink.
I always have it close or nearby in one form or another, and try to fit it in some of the best moments and situations in life, to create a bond or memory of that time, and the beverage that accompanied it
For instance, when my gift from Nix arrived, a good strong coffee followed me through the unboxing, letter reading and gift opening  :salute:

here I just got this old Aitor in a mountain shop at a small village in the Pyrenees I had just visited. Subtle, hazelnut coffee bought in that village as well

this one was at a centric cafeteria, when the new major in town Ada Colau had just been elected, and was in all the newspapers. Never going back, it was watery and burnt coffee

here I just got a package from ToolJoe from this forum but I could not open it at home so brought it with me to the hospital and while waiting for the results I opened it at the cafe in the building (it was a LM Crater knife!  :woohoo:) and put on it the closest lanyard/fob I had on me then, an Irish bracelet that was the only thing I could wear inside the PET room  :dunno: The drink was decent, its heat and warmth more appreciated than its flavor  :)

and finally, not to bore you anymore, this is from when my best friend came form London, and brought me this coffee mug and a doughnut he got at the airport where I picked him up on arrival  ::). I cut it to pieces with Nix's gift, the ZT, but my friend at it all, as I don't eat these pastries and he hadn't got food since the day before  :D I put a bit of milk in it, something I rarely do, just because I did on his coffee too  :salute:

these are some examples, of which I have dozens
