This is one of my favorite Metal boxes.
Snap-On calls it an Ignition Box and it fits in the top of a Snap-On top box that I have but is buried right now so no pics yet of that  one or them together!

The box holds a pretty amazing number of tools and the top tray is on slides and just slides rearward to expose the bottom layer.

I think I have had this one for forty years maybe from back when I installed/serviced car stereo and CBs in the 70's! Ha!

There were certainly no computers in the cars back then. :drink:

Can anyone guess or remember what the first tool on the bottom left is?
The one with the Walnut Handle.

Here is a set of wooden boxes that I built from plans in Woodworker Magazine I think?
The boxes are made from 1x everywhere except the bottoms which are plywood and they stack together by design as you can see from the last pic!
The fronts flip open so that you don't need to unstack them to use them, genius design!
The top box has a slide out tray and tool holders in it too and the 4th box of the set is in Witness Protection as of this writing.
These are really great for taking things out to the truck and shop and are pretty light weight too for as much as they can be stuffed.

I do love me some Tool Boxes! :climber: :drink: :twak: :woohoo:

In the old days here in the UK  all the Chippys used to carry their tools about in one of these
There is normally a drawer or two at the top (missing in mine) and often they had their saws attached inside the fold down door

The Guys would make them to suit their needs, different sizes to suit their tools
Different carry options, one handle on top, handles either end, shoulder strap etc etc

Just wait untill tomorrows picture

I picked this one up on Friday Afternoon and have been trying to get it going for Monday calls.

This thing actually does hold an INSANE number of tools as was advertised!

I am always trying to get the most streamlined bag that I can take with me on the road so I can take the most tools in the least space and this seems to set a new Benchmark so far in that way,now the only question is whether I can actually carry it too?

I have promised myself to never buy another bag that does not close up again and this one does have a pull away velcro closed lid!

There are also 3 full width pockets that you can not really see in these pics including one that is padded and zippered!

I am hopeful.

Everything that was in this bag which was pretty ful and an additional bunch of tools fits into the new bag which ends up being a fraction of the size of just this bag too!
Just too much Fabric in the way.

Thanks!

I am eager to see how it works in real life.

I already see a few things I wish were different and I am pretty sure that like every other time I do this that I will need to jettison a few items to make it work better!
At least I am consistent! :dunno:
