Here is just one page of ideas, not mine for sure but those Festool guys are LOCO!

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/282460207855989961/

In the old days here in the UK  all the Chippys used to carry their tools about in one of these
There is normally a drawer or two at the top (missing in mine) and often they had their saws attached inside the fold down door

I would love to see one as they were kitted out in those days. :dd:

Hardly, just a lot more boxes than I need.
I am not sure I have carried a Metal Box since switching to lightweight and flexible soft sided bags really?
Especially right now they would freeze to my hands in the morning......oh the pain. :ahhh

So the Hobby box has been waiting to be cleaned out for 20 years at least but I did toy with the notion of carrying the Kennedy again within the last year or so.
Thats why it is so clean. >:D

This is one of my favorite Metal boxes.
Snap-On calls it an Ignition Box and it fits in the top of a Snap-On top box that I have but is buried right now so no pics yet of that  one or them together!

The box holds a pretty amazing number of tools and the top tray is on slides and just slides rearward to expose the bottom layer.

I think I have had this one for forty years maybe from back when I installed/serviced car stereo and CBs in the 70's! Ha!

There were certainly no computers in the cars back then. :drink:

Can anyone guess or remember what the first tool on the bottom left is?
The one with the Walnut Handle.

{pics removed}

Sent from my iPhone, dont expect too much

Two questions:  1) how does that lock actually work?  I don't see anything on the inside to engage.  2) What the heck IS the tool with the walnut handle???

Sorry I’m late...life got in the way.

I have had this beauty since I was 21 years old...it’s made by Lux Tools in Germany.

Legend has it that each of these stickers adds 5 horsepowers to ANY car they are put on....just imagine what they do on a tool cart like this!!!

The Husky toolbox on top was my tool box when I lived in America....Home Depots finest!

...+1 post count

EDIT:

My tool collection is a mix of “US & Canada market only” tool brands, “UK & Ireland market only” tool brands, and even some “German market only” tool brands, with different other more widely known brands too of course.

I’m still looking for some “Russian market only” brands to add to my tool collection

The Tool Box/Bag Thread
Reply #86 on: March 02, 2019, 02:32:08 AM
I think I will try to light a fire under this thread again if I can!

So Today I had to repair several Mic cables and since I already had the Soldering Box out I figure I might as well stick it on here too!

This is a Workmate Tool Box which is an actual Workmate lid that does Workmate things and hinges over a box with a try. Pretty Handy really.
I keep a Temperature Controlled Soldering station in it as well as a Dremel adjustable vice with dual Alligater Clip Hands attached to it,crazy huh?!?!

So I can put this thing on a floor or table or desk or any handy surface and make an all day soldering party if I need to and I do need to fairly often.
The Vice contraption has a 1x2 on the bottom so it can't move on the box top and I have the Dogs for the Workmate in there too in case I need to clamp anything else down and perform surgery on it.

I Loves me some Workmate!
