Gerber Richartz
on: December 08, 2019, 05:36:05 AM
Came across this Gerber Richartz and this was a first I've ever heard of this brand.  According to a commentator in another forum and I quote "Two of the Richartz bros emigrated to England before WWII and formed Richards Sheffield. This company was a huge producer of inexpensive knives, many with shell-type handles similar to Imperial in the US."   https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/viewtopic.php?t=24602.  Below are some images.

Yet if this was made in Germany or England, wouldn't this have the country of origin stamped somewhere?

At first I thought this might merely be a promotional item and likely this was, but the name is what through me off.

Interesting information and proved what I figured was true about this line of products.  Thank you for the help.

Gerber is rich with information and unfortunately much of this hasn't been widely archived.  Thanks to Chako,  I learned they made multiple variations of multi tools.

Richartz is a company in Solingen Germany, see also my thread in General Tool Discussion  https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,83648.0.html about RICARDO designed by Richartz.
