My holy grail just arrived to me today

That's the one I was talking about:
"By far the hardest to find and most expensive older LM  (if one does come up for sale) is the original Cabela's catalogue PST.

These have a stamped "Cabela's" and "US PAT 4238862" on the handle, hollow knurled screws, "Leatherman" only pliers (no "USA") and a large "Leatherman, USA" etched on the main part of the blade."

Well done !   :salute:  :salute:  :salute:

My holy grail will be a PST in black oxide with an original leather sheath.
Enjoy!

Can you share some numbers, days spent searching, days upon find, dineros ...
I found on ebay, a NIB PST from the 90's, with sheet and package goes around 100-150EUR, in Europe.
A good condition one  around 50-75EUR
Flair and Pulse, in good condition between 50 and 75 EUR

I acquire as many models as I can as well :salute: it is fun or else I wouldn't do it :D I don't have many PSTs because I would rather have different models than all the same one :tu: my collection is much the same direction as yours but I just have less brand diversity :salute:
Diversification is definitely a lot of fun, and it is also much more affordable than attempting to complete a variant collection. :ahhh

Very nice! :like:

I agree, Greg  but I think "true original Cabela's (and Early Winters) catalogue PST" has usual (not hollow) knurled screws.
Hollow screws on PSTs - it's much rarer, but was a bit later.

I started to collect PSTs since ~2014 and all this time I looking for this "the most classic first PST".
A couple weeks ago I just bought it on eBay for $47  :)

But MTO user chrono, few years ago, bought the same with original leather sheath for $24 :ahhh

I want to add my holy grail would be a signed tool by Tim Leatherman.  I'd have a hard time deciding but the first tool that comes to mind is the one I've shown in this thread.  The second tool would be my BO Surge.

I have a very early PST with stamped "Cabela's" on the handle, hollow knurled screws, but no blade etching (of course the blade etching may have been polished off by a previous owner, or left off by LM - who knows  ??? ).

I voted for pre 90s PST but that will also include the Japanese PSTs :salute: I have one of the early examples (with knurled screws not rivets) that either predates or was made at the same time as the JPST and I got to have it signed by Tim himself :dd: and he told me that he more than likely worked on that one himself :ahhh I was very proud to have been able to bring that to him and for him to see it :like:

I'd love to see some detail photos of this.
