Seems like a good chopper. I'll bet you get a lot of power with that long handle.  :tu:

Cheers, Nix  :tu:

It seems to chop well, just need to get used to using it!

Need to clean up and oil the handle now

Oh, excellent shot.  :tu:

I find that every axe or hand tool requires some degree of learning. Maybe that's just me, but each seems to have it's own nuances. I think that' part of the fun of trying new tools.

Ohhhhhhh... Nice new edge Tazzie!  :like:

The edges on axes are always going to get bashed a bit from time to time, it's inevitably, they are tools after all.  :tu:

We have an overwhelming majority to run this challenge in October....Choptober as Fuzzbucket sez.

So, Choptober it is!   :ahhh  (Kev already has it listed in the 2019 Challenges thread as an October challenge, so he is well ahead of me here.  :tu:

I locked the voting for the poll. It does seem that we ended up with more votes than people who signed up, but maybe, now that the date is set, we'll see a few extra people sign up. This already promises to be a fun challenge.

Axemen:

1. Nix (with Lyndax)
2. Rapid Ray (needs a vacation axe)
3. RF52 (hasn't committed to a specific axe)
4. Borg (planning on a smallish axe)
5. Styx (most likely, if things haven't gone full-on 'berserker', and even then, perhaps.)
6. Greg 'Chopper' Jones (with a couple axes and a positive attitude.)
7. KBM3 (with an axe to be named later...)
8. Fuzzbucket (with Fuzzaxe)
9. 'Battle Axe' Barry Rowland
10. Noa Isumi (with multiple axes)
11. David
12. gustophersmob (with an Estwing)
13. Comis (with Chip Chop No.1)
14. TazzieRob (with a Bruce)

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Yes, the edge holds up very well to Aussie gum, just not so well with basalt rock! I need to be careful chopping anything near or on the ground, as the place is full of it just below the surface, but it was quick to get the edge back. I would rather not have had to do it so early on but no lasting harm done  :tu:
