Fuzzaxe Day 22

Did a bit of tidying up in the garden this afternoon, especially in the veg patch, increased my carbon footprint considerably in the process. I'm expecting an imminent visit from Extinction Rebellion, they'll probably superglue themselves to my gate or something now... it's alright I've got an axe...

day 22: today's totally awesome companions

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Nice apple tree actually, nice open spread.  :like:

Thanks Fuzzy. Between me, the moths, and the Rainbow Lorikeets, I think I only ate one apple off this tree last year. I should throw some netting over it to see what I can actually get

I don't envy you that comis, but my wife and I are trying for a kid at the moment. If successful I'm sure my coffee intake is going to increase

The benefit of a smaller handle is it would be less work to get the head on it, but I'm sure you can make it work and it will be a good exercise in hanging

Is there a little edge damage on Fuzzaxe? Have you already been un-supergluing "or something" rebels from your gate?

Day 22
What's green and shaped like a stick...a very green stick.
No clue what kind of wood that my wife wants to use it for a project so going to be scraping some bark. (It was saw cut)

And a second pic for today
I specifically ordered my breakfast uncut just so I could use the sog.
An Italian sub with pineapple and jalapeno added.
( pepperoni, ham, salami, provolone, mozzarella, onions, green peppers, pineapple, jalapeno, dressing)
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

That looks a lot like Elder to me. Does it have a large soft pith?

Yes in  the smaller branches.
After a little looking you might be right. I found out box elder is apparently common around here. Plant, tree and wood identification are skills I have never had much luck in developing.

Day 23

Some TLC is long overdued for my Fasthawk, and use the rust eraser/steel wool to take care the little rust spots developed, then I tried to use the GB axe sharpener and Spyderco double stuff to bring it back to sharpness.

Those two sharpeners are pretty reliable for all my field sharpening needs, but for whatever reason just don't seem to get it sharp even confirmed with the marker method.  The little axe probably was never sharpen properly to begin with, so out come the worksharp electric sander and finish with some stropping.
