Only thing I can think of to fix that is to recover with new ultra-thin leatherette. Probably won't be exactly the same color, but would look nice. Should be fairly easy to do, since there isn't any writing on the leatherette and the badge can be glued onto the new leatherette.

I noticed the upside down certificate too, but was still more OCD thinking about how the boxes could be repaired. Flipping around stuff is easier than recovering the presentation boxes. ;)

Would just putting in a loose piece of greaseproof paper (baking parchment) work to keep the offending surfaces apart?

Yes indeed. If there is no damage yet(or to keep it from getting worse), then separating them would be good to prevent any or further damage. :)

If I had one of those and it looked like the ones posted, I'd be going nuts. I know those were expensive pieces. :ahhh

You should contact Victorinox about it, maybe they have a solution  :dunno:

So I did what Reinier suggested, contacted the local Victorinox importer and sent them the pictures (without much hope).
I received a call few weeks ago, saying that they were in contact with the factory and that they were going to take care of me....
Well, look what they sent me (free of charge) today

Just WOW!!!!!
The "new" box is much nicer than the crappy one I have.
So I think they know the problem and probably already had many request by customers.
Well, I am happy
Will post pictures later with the knife in the "new home"
