I would like to earn the Carabiner User badge and here is the story that goes with it:
This morning i packed up the dogs and we drove to a local park. Upon arrival i realized that i had forgotten one important item: The Y dog leash
Normally the first option would be to use the spare leashes i have in the car (for exactly a situation like this). Problem is one of the main leashes snapped last week, so one of the spare leashes got a promotion.
Which left only 1 spare leash in the car. Figured i get a new one "one of these days". Since i was sure i would not need both of them anytime soon...
So since i only had one normal leash i was left with two options. First, drive back home and get another leash or second pull a MacGyver.I decided for the second option.
I used the blade of my trusty explorer to cut off the shoulder sling of my tripod bag. It is an old bag and I only keep it in the car to put the tripod in when it is dirty or wet. So not a big deal cutting the sling off.
Then i fastened it in the middle of the spare leash i had in the car. Next i used the carabiner on the hand loop to create a new hook-up point.
The result worked like a charm
