Removing branding off from a Swisstool Spirit?
on: March 11, 2019, 04:42:15 PM
I found this second-hand one and the price is low compared to other sellers but it has a logo on it, which I hate. Do you think I can remove it without damaging/staining the finish of the tool?

And Other than the logo I think the tool looks okay, any damages you notice? Never even touched a Swisstool, so I'm kind of a virgin here (God, I hope this didn't come out wrong).

I have the exact same Spirit!!

The logo polished right off.

I used green polishing compound and a polishing wheel on my pillar drill.

You'll be able to actualy feel the lettering and logo, which is an indicator it's placed on the steel. Not lasered in.

I removed it because the Würth logo was partialy damaged when I got it.

Two colours (in fact any colour other than grey) shows it's probably printed on anyway.  Polish it off!

for what it's Würth, I don't think it is very visible and would not bother me, it's covered by your hand in use  :dunno:
and in the sheath or pocket is out of sight as well  ???

Autosol would probably take that off without having to use any tools. Note: I said Autosol not Analsol.

I'm not Würthy. I'm not Würthy.

I'm going to polish the branding off of one of my OG Swisstools tomorrow. Thanks, guys! :)

lol I was thinking about Würth-jokes but could not come up with any, I come back here and there's a ton of it

Thank you for the recommendations/solutions, I noted them. And yesterday I bought it!  :ahhh It's in pristine condition and so sleek and thin! I expected a bulkier tool, I'm surprised by the thickness or the lack of it, and the shine!  :dd: And the snap!.. And the half-way engaging locks...  Somebody here once said that the Swisstool Spirit is too pretty to use, now I understand what that means...

It also feels like it can be a BEAUTIFUL EDC, since it's not heavier than a LM Wave. Dunno... such a lovely tool.
