12 Pack of SAKs - wonder what they are?
on: March 12, 2019, 03:12:34 PM
I bought another "lot" of SAKs.  This time they are "bigger sizes" according to the eBay ad.
Can't wait until they arrive:

Hm, could be a rambler on the upper right, and some classics in the lower row.

Doesn‘t look like bigger sizes honestly

:like:  I think I can see at least 4 Minichamps (one with Lite), one @Work/Flash, one Silvertech Signature Lite  and some Ramblers.  You'll be lucky to get anything like a Vagabond though.

Good luck, FB!  Multiple knife lots are usually too much of a gamble to me, but I'm sure I've missed some good deals shying away from them.

one @Work/Flash...

Looks like SwissMemory or Victorinox Flash (1st or 2nd generation of Flash Drives).
@Work series (4th generation) comes with thinner drives

I think you might have this one:

The later one has higher capacity flash drives:

Glad to hear you got excused early from jury duty. It can make for a long day.

I have served once about 35 years ago and last fall I was excused from serving on a jury because I know 2 of the officers who were involved.

It really depends. I've had quite good luck. Some have lots of good knives, that each would have cost as much as the lot. Others had stuff that looked good, but turned out to be used up junk with broke blades, blades with no snap, and heavy wear. Not to mention the occasional broken backspring.

Looks like a great lot!     I'm curious, what exactly is the unusual looking tool on the top left SAK?

Should I be worried about getting a computer virus with a used SAK with flash drive?  Passed on several for that reason alone.

That or something worse. As a general rule you should never plug a USB drive from an unknown source into your computer.

There are ways to protect yourself, but you need to know what you are doing and the limitations of it.

I don't know what that is either, hoping it's not a broken tool.  It does have an odd indent that I haven't seen on a 58mm tool.
Maybe it's just an odd angle:

This will be my second attempt at buying a "lot".  First one turned out okay.  Hoping this one does as well.
I always think I'm going to take apart some of these and make a Monster 58mm as seen here:
http://victorinox.metodi.me/monster58.php

But to this day, I've only switch scales.
