Awesome collection, again, Ray!
And I cannot convey how happy I was to see that the thread was actually about paring knives. There have been a disturbing number of threads recently about downsizing collections and such. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a bit depressing to a collector. Your knife collections are just outstanding! Thanks for sharing it with MT.o.
Thanks to all for the kind words and sometimes words can be a little confusing;especially in the English language.Spell Check makes it even more confusing! Don't know how many times I see writings that have words inserted that SOUND like the correct one but are not.Even the word "pare" isn't exempt:we also have the fruit named,"pear" that sounds identical.
As for the paring knives;I don't know how I started accumulating them but it seems like I must be magnetic and knives are just naturally attracted to me.
Most of them(including the new ones)were bought for a dollar or two.The prize was the Warther. That particular knife cost me $2 and they retailed at the time for about $40. Strangely enough the one my wife likes the best is an old cheap Chinese parer that I got to cut out patterns in my shop with. She uses that one all the time.
