Well... I did say it was on the cusp.

However, in my defence, it's not a very typical lambsfoot as there is no clear change in angle on the spine (if you know what I mean) that's such a big characteristic of the English pattern, it has a continuous uninterrupted line to the tip a bit like a wharncliffe. Looking at it though, I think you're all right, it's not a proper wharny, like Nix said, it's not acute enough... if David says it's a lambsfoot, then I'm happy to go with that.  :tu:

Here it is with some Sheffield lambsfoot lambsfeet and... ah... the Calf Roper.

(Image removed from quote.)

I don't mean to sound arsey or contrary, it's just that I used to collect lambsfoot lambsfeet and other farm and garden knives as a geeky teenager.

Very nice collection cuz !   :like:

Come to think of it. Isn't that knife what A Wright calls a Senator model? If so I think they call that blade a modified lambfoot. I'm on break at work will have to research more when I get home.
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

Yes! That's it, I couldn't remember what it was, - thanks. I think it is a lambsfoot, you're right, just not necessarily a very good example of one.  :tu:

My son and I saw that the other night.
We thought it was pretty good too :D

Day 6: Just getting started for the day.  Just the Sheepdogs and me! Cutting open a coffee packet is all we've done so far.

Aww, thank you guys!  I gonna play with this one more to see it warms up.

Ron, I admire your skill/courage, I could never convince myself to stick a slipjoint hard into anything since I always worry it might accidentally close on my fingers.

Btw, cool backpack, and does it have your name on the pack?

Fuzzy, what's the title of that book? I wouldn't mind finding a copy.

Day 6
Had a chance to do some puttering in the garden today. The hook blade works well on cutting green twigs.

Day 6, Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday, suit carry.

Was used to cut threads off the wife's towel and to open up a bunch of antacids. Don't know I ate but I was in agony all friday evening.

Oh and its an wharncliffe. :D

Had a chance to do some puttering in the garden today. The hook blade works well on cutting green twigs.

What's the other blade, is that... it is, it's a bloody wharncliffe, isn't it?!  :ahhh

The books called Price Guide to Pocket Knives 1890-1970 Jakob N. Jarrett

https://www.amazon.com/Price-Guide-Pocket-Knives-1890-1970/dp/0895380242/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Price+Guide+to+Pocket+Knives+1890-1970&qid=1562440216&s=gateway&sr=8-1

It's good, but not great, it doesn't have a lot of information, but it's does have plenty of (almost entirely) old catalogue reproductions. Annoyingly it misses quite a few major manufacturers though... Like Queen and Camillus for example.

In 1970, that was more or less the beginning of knife collecting as a mainstream hobby. But, both Queen and Camillus had both been in business for more than 50 years in 1970.  I guess Queen or Camillus were not considered collectible back then?

Day 06
Mini Trappers ...  ... I'm sure it's a Wharncliffe blade... got used to open a new DVD set (don't ask)  :P

:like:  I have the one blade version. Looking at getting one with the clip/Wharncliffe configuration. I've really gone head-over-heels for Mini Trappers. Decent size for EDC, and great springs.

I think, as a publishing company, they just included the catalogues they had access to. I don't think they did much external research. Still good though.  :tu:
