Day 14 - A laid back Sunday, selected this smaller blade folder by Wild Turkey Cutlery.
No problem opening new pack of pallets for Varmint control.

Day: 14

Today is Bastille Day!

Mrs Nix, knowing I’m a fan of Bastille Day, gave me this replica of the key to the Bastille as a gift once. For me it is a symbol of freedom, liberty, and equality (and makes a darned good paper weight).  The original key was given to President George Washington by a hero of the American revolution, the Marquis de Lafayette. This gesture was a great honor, highlighting the close association between the American revolution and the French revolution.

The key at Washington's home in Virginia, Mount Vernon:

In honor of Bastille day, I offer this as my Day 14 photo:

Thanks. That's good to know then as the Ranger was purchased at the same time as my Colonial Electrician so they may have belonged to the same owner.  I have what looks like the same stockman as yours, except mine has the white scales.

Allan if I remember correctly the Rangers were made with white, yellow and black delrin covers.    :tu:

Thank you Nic!
“Jimping “ is a new term to me.
Yes, it makes the knife look fancy and likely why it came home with me as a 2nd purchase that day,  a couple years back.

Yeah me too, it's one of my favourite knives but i really know nothing about it, i did try Otter but they knew nothing, only it was probably an old Kauffmann from yonks ago, nice to have a clasp lock Merc though  :tu:

What an intriguing knife. Is the back spring attached seperately to the back... if you know what I mean?

Yes, very simple lock spring pinned to the back, rectangle hole catches a rectangle on the back of the blade  :tu:

Thanks for that, that is genuinely very interesting. Regarding the mating hole - some folding stilettos have a similar sort of set-up.

Lunch with the youngest and her boyfriend, today.  Dinner with the oldest and her brood tonight.  Only time I had was a bit of knife maintenance, in between.
