Very cool shots, Poms.....although I can't find the knives in the photos.....

Without a camera phone....I probably wouldn't take more than 3 photos a year.

Like pomsbz, I prefer a real camera - a single purpose tool. But I might get a smartphone nevertheless.

When i was a kid we used to have to wait till dinner was served, take a photo, run down the street to the chemist, hang around for sometimes hours waiting on the prints, get prints, run round to your mates house, show the photos then run home and hope the dog hasn't eaten all your food while you were away, digital is so much more convenient and what is more convenient than a camera already in your pocket ready to go, with added bonus it's a phone too  :D

Aye, but we were happy...  (puffs on pipe)...

Prepping some grilled ham for today's lunch, ham with spicy peanut sauce.

Thanks! I remember the days of waiting, with trepidation however. It was usually someone's wedding I was waiting to get back from the lab, it would take days and then the gulp as you opened the packets to find out if somehow you'd screwed up badly. Then the exhale of breath as you realise that there are pictures there, in focus, with decent exposure and screw the fact that their auntie wasn't smiling in all the pictures, who cares.  Digital was a relief from that perspective. In the early days it was hard. No question about it, the technology was young as heck and I was one of the early adopters but at least you knew that the bleeding camera was working ok as you were shooting!

They just announced a new camera today, Sony A7r mk4. 61 megapixels and technology I would never have been able to imagine in either the film days or even my days shooting weddings with digital. Utterly unbelievable. I've got one on pre-order for our studio but we still won't be using a tiny fraction of its capabilities.

I still refuse to have a smart phone though.

Day 16

Borg, forgive my ignorance but what is the name of this type of knife? I love the shape of it, reminds me a bit of a small chef’s knife. Looks like an ergonomic dream as well.

I have a relatively cheap, lightweight, do-it-all type called a bridge camera. The Sony HX200V.
At least some of my photos come out right.  :D

 :iagree:

I think Borg will confirm it is a Grohmann D.H. Russell Lockback. A sweet looking take on the famous Russell Canadian belt knife!  :tu:

I love how you guys are taking these pro grade glamour shots and I’m just here like...

As for use today, just opened some snacks and cut a blueberry muffin in half. Nothing exciting yet...

This thread is so easy to get behind on.  I confess if I get too far behind, I skip so,e of the comments and just look at the pictures.  Nix’s post has me curious, how many people will be blaming this thread for new knives by the end of the challenge.  We’re only have way through and already seeing some new acquisitions.

Hmm, peanut sauce, had to google that one, sounds nice and seems easy to make  :tu:

That's why I took my time and read all the posts, or as much as I can...with this challenge running parallel to anniversary challenge, there are so much goodies that is almost disorienting... :ahhh

Day 9 for me

Used the knife for food prep again and to open a car smelly. Two wet dogs leave one very distinctive smell in the car  :D
