That's just lovely!  :like: I've got the Tidioute #73 which is similar, but it just doesn't have that beautiful swedge!

And now on to ICC #4: The Sharpening Challenge.
...

Blah blah blah...

ICC #4 will start...right now. A winner, drawn at random from the list of accepted entries, will be chosen on the 27th. This gives you guys a few days to break out the stones and touch up the edge on the traditional you've been using all challenge long. (And given Fuzzy's difficulty with cheese, I suspect that he for one will need to figure out how to sharpen a knife....)

Blah blah blah... etc...

Just saw that - cheeky sod.

This challenge is just riddled with beautiful photos, cool knives, good uses, and pics that make me want to eat myself to death. :D

Day 22:

Busted out a little gem of a knife. Nothing about it screams quality, but it just works well. Paired with the Crunch(has no plain blade), I like it.
Made an opening in the Goodies box with the Sharp 260 today. I think the blade needs a little touch up, though it is usable. :ahhh

Some many ICC :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

ICC #4

I use this double sided (medium and fine) Buck diamond sharpening card  it is roughly 1 inch by 4 inch and about as think as a credit card :salute: I carry this with me in my phone cases other pocket always  I hold it with my left hand and freehand sharpen, back and forth an equal number of times for each side or just back and forth. I also use the debur trick of passing the blade lightly on a piece of wood right before the final sharpen :tu: Here is this Old Timer that I made a few passes on over the fine side of the diamonds to tune it back up just a bit and then cut this receipt paper

Hope this qualifies me

I also have more sharpening gadgets and stones than you can shake a stick at but this card gets the most use because it is always with me

We have a sharpening gear thread around here somewhere  I need to find a link :D

Cloudy summer afternoons are a luxury around the house, here.  We've got a West facing property, so it gets hot, and long ago I set a temperature range  of between 40 & 90° to carve in.
Got my Geppetto and did a bit more rough work to my pit.

I have few different sizes and brands of those but the Buck is the best as far as being doubled sided and a really great size to hold and sharpen vs having to lay it down on something and sharpen

:like:     That knife sure looks like a Colonial made knife. I cant remember if Sharp was one of their brand names or not.         :D

Day 22

(Image removed from quote.)

So i noticed a bit of vertical play a few days ago and thought it was getting worse, not bad for a locker but noticeable, after above picture i thought i better give it a good wash and i'm glad to say all play has now gone, it's now solid as a rock again

I would bet you're right. Definitely has a Colonial feel to it. It has good specs on paper(like brass liners and USA made), but has the poorish fit & finish of a budget Colonial knife.  :)
