Don’t think any tool I have will help!!
on: March 19, 2019, 05:04:19 AM
Even with my Leatherman tools and SAKs, I think this one is a goner...

Some smurf pulled out in front of my 28 year old son tonight. Destroyed his pristine ‘93 Mustang LX with 5 liter package. A Limited Edition that my mom bought new in ‘93 and my son bought from her about 5 years ago.

He’s fine, just a bit banged up. He T-Boned the truck that pulled out in front of him.

RIP ol’ gal. Been nice knowin’ ya...

Thanks!

Yeah, hate that I couldn’t leave work to go see him. Of course if he had been really hurt I’d gone. Work could just picked up and kiss my behind!

Haha

Just pound out the dents with the hammer end of a MUT  then rub it with some ice- make sure you use vanilla though because it rides best in a 5.0.

Sorry, couldn't help it!

I am glad to hear that your son is OK.  That's the best news that can come from an accident like that.  The next best news is that the car is a write off- if they tried to repair it you'd probably never be happy with it again, and dealing with the insurance to do proper repairs is a nightmare.  I fought with my insurance company for 10 months and most of that was to try and mitigate the stupid smurf that the body shop did to damage my Jeep more when they tried to "fix" it.  Meanwhile, both people that hit me were long since driving brand new cars.

It absolutely sucks though, as that looked like a beautiful car, and no insurance company can cover the care that was obviously put into it.

Def
Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

He’s 28. I think he’ll bounce back. The Stang was his baby, but he has a Fiat 500X to Drive as well.

Pretty sad about the car, though.  :-\
At least you can keep in mind that it crumpled itself up to prevent any harm from coming to him. :salute:
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Sure glad your son is ok.  I see those 5.0s around my parts from time to time, well not his particular one but 5.0s.  It sure looks clean even smashed up  :(

Oh man, Z. Sorry that you're family heirloom car is a goner.  :(

But, as others said, so great that your son walked away from the ordeal. :)

Glad to hear your son is all okay by the way.

The only car accident I was ever in was some idiot who slammed on the breaks as we were going around in a roundabout for no reason whatsoever

Good to know! Does the other driver have insurance? Any chance of getting the car fixed? Or at least get some money as compensation?
