To the guitar players out there...

Hello, folks!
I got me a guitar some time ago. Never quite learned how to play. Recently I discovered this site. Lots of info, videos and a (what looks to me) pretty reasonably organized and complete online course.
https://www.justinguitar.com/
What does this look like, to those of you who really can play? Is he telling it like it is? Do you think this is a good way to start?

I just had a quick look at some of the beginner videos and they look pretty good to me. If you can't play at all it seems like a good place to start.
What kind of guitar did you get, acoustic or electric ? The hardest part of beginning guitar is toughening up your fingertips and getting your left hand muscle memory for the chord shapes. A good easy playing guitar is the most important thing in my opinion.

That is hands down the first site I would recommend to anyone learning guitar.
I have learnt a lot from it - more the intermediate/blues stuff. He's a good teacher.
I need to go there more often.
One thing about guitar (and bass) lesson videos is they can get a bit clumsy when they describe the note positions eg: "the fourth fret on the fifth string..."
I wish they would say things like "play the minor third, then the fourth" instead but I understand why they don't for beginners.

I got a second hand classical acoustic guitar some time ago. I'll take some pics of it. I got a small booklet with some beginners' exercises on it but never got very far.
These video lessons seemed very detailed and clear. Downloaded some and am going to try and get a schedule to practice.

Even 10 minutes a day is far better than 70 minutes once a week.

Well, I can tell a guitar apart from a frying pan in two atempts or less...
I had music lessons in 1st grade, but that was last century. I'm basically starting from scratch.

The older kid got himself a guitar (electric) drove us nuts, but he kinda got a hang of it, then got another, this time a acoustic, and he ended up selling the electric, only thing is his gf has bought him a brand new electric for his bday in a few weeks, it’s sitting upstairs but they have their own place so no worry on the noise!

If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?
