OC Farmer Score!

I like the look of Old Cross SAKs. I just don't like the price.   I gave about $30 here for a beat-up one, and $50 for an Electrician.   Farmers were always bringing close to $100. In other words, not happening any time soon.

I occasionally browse the "store" section of another forum I am on. Often, I'll find stuff at insanely low prices.  I'm tired of eBay's changes that make a mess out of everything (i.e genericizing my search results to add related terms, causing a bunch of junk to show up that has nothing to do with what I'm looking for), so they are getting my business a lot more. I could not believe the $33 (plus $3 shipping) price. I had bought items from the particular seller on that store multiple times, so I knew I could trust the guy. And at a price less than a new, modern silver Farmer, there is no reason I was letting this one pass me up.


The only problem is that the blade tip is slightly bent at the very tip, an issue that was mentioned and shown well. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to have seen much wear at all.   I will carry this one for light EDC jobs, but not hard use. I will be purchasing a slip to go with it eventually, so that I won't cause wear to the scales.

Congratulations Cody.  The old cross Farmer is one of my all-time favorite SAKs, and the price you paid is unbeatable, even with a slightly bent tip.  Well done.

Oh, and do you have a pic of the back with all the tools open? I’d like to try to estimate a date on it. Post-‘71.5 is all I can guess from the ‘front’ view of the tools.

Very nice, Cody! I wish Vic had kept the old cross style. More elegant than the shield, and no unsightly engraving panel on the back scale.
