ALL knives are interesting(to me anyway) but I have no objections to KA-BAR. Got a lot of them from all different era.

Nice ones Dunc. I’m all for a Kabar owner club. I take it you mean Kabar the brand not the style generically referred to as a Kabar.
Here’s one of mine named to a serviceman, Navy I think, Swartz  212-88-93.
It has been modified at some point by changing the sabre grind to hollow and reducing the width of the guard.

Here is one I found awhile back for the grand sum of $5. It looked a bit grim with what looked like rust all over it.It turned out to be hardened cosmolene(the grease like preservative that military weapons are packaged in)and proved to be reasonably easy to remove. When the sheath was cleaned up I noticed that the owner(J.P.Jones)had ink stamped his name onto the front and rear of the sheath. I didn't see a service number so it may not have been a military issue but rather a postwar acquisition. The next post will show it cleaned.

Here is the KA-BAR cleaned and ready for use as well as another one I bought some time ago. This one had a hole drilled in the handle just in front of the pommel;likely so a lanyard could be attached. This one I believe is WWII era. Also a modern KA-BAR replica.

#1Kabar scout utility.
#2 Folding hunter from the KA-BAR collector's club 1990
#3Three knives stamped Cleveland Ohio made in Hong Kong.
#4 Small fixed blade makred KA-BAR and Union Cutlery Co.

As an aside:KA-BAR changed their stamping to this( Kabar)around 1951 which helps date some of the knives. The all capitals stamp(KA-BAR)was later used on some of the collector club and other specials.

The only Ka-Bar in my collection is this backlock folder. I bought this one new somewhere in the 20th century, it´s seen lots of use.
