This one is easy! Casio rangeman all day

Timer (I boil a lot of eggs)
Stop time
The time is always right automatic adjustment
No battery fuss
Multiple alarms (I have no sense of time)
Compass is a nice bonus
Barometric reading gets a lot of use
Up and down for the sun also gets a lot of use
And I can't break it

My perfect watch was the Casio Rangeman which I have twice owned and twice had to part with due to finances... I'm kind of done with watches :td:

My perfect watch has to be the Casio Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A3ER.

Solar: check
Atomic: check
Analog: check
Great lume: check
ABC functions: check







I like it so much that my wife bought me the A1ER version last Christmas ... (the Lume on this one is also great, but the hour markings are a bit less visible, due to them being grey coloured instead of white like on the 1A3ER version)






Close second (read VERY CLOSE !!) is the Rangeman, it ticks the same boxes as the Mudmaster, and it also has sunrise/sunset info (which the Mudmaster doesn't have), but the compass on the Mudmaster is much easier to read and being digital it lacks the nice lume (it does have nice back-light, but the same goes for the Mudmaster).  Bang for buck, the Rangeman wins, since it costs less than half of what the Mudmaster costs ...




By now you guys are probably fed up with me posting these watches on this forum, but there just happen to be a lot of "watch-topics" popping up these days ...  :surrender:

I don’t have a perfect watch simply because I wear different watches for doing different things. Just like you would with clothes or shoes.

These are a few of mine in no particular order. Each is perfect for the situations it’s worn in :tu:

Automatic but still alarm, timer and stop watch functions. Ti housing with transparent back to see all the gears moving. Clean design, shock resistant and interchangeable straps. And while we are at it: It needs a laser  :D

Here’s my little collection, some are normal, some are self-winding, some solar, and some atomic, yet only that one Casio falls under everything and is my everyday watch..

Had this Citizen for many years, used it as a chippy working on site, as a support worker (made use of it's water resisting abilities and put to harder work than when on site) and it's an extremely good timekeeper, good at night and looks smart (but scratched) - been through about fifteen straps.

Does everything I want a watch to do.

I’ve always liked the look and value of that citizen!  It does look in pictures like the crown sticks out kind of far. Have you ever noticed that being a problem?
If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?

I like all watches, and do not really have a perfect watch.

I suppose...

1. It must fit me. I am amazed at how many bracelets do not fit me. On a leather bracelet, I can usually get away with the last hole. The problem with that is the keeper may not secure the end. On a metal bracelet, I can usually buy extra links...stress usually.

2. Should be somewhat accurate. I am happy to not be finicky about this. For my purpose, even the cheapest automatic will keep good enough time for me.

3. Comfort is important. I wish more watches did not have crowns at the 3 o'clock position. Mind you, many watches are tight on me, forcing the crown to dig into my upper hand.

4. Functionality. So long as it keeps the time, I am happy. However, it is nice to have other functions. Having an ABC watch is very nice. I have a Casio Pathfinder that does it all including being solar and atomic controlled. I guess the feature I like the most is having a barometer and built in weather prediction. Bonus if the watch has weather icons...but having a barometer graph is all one needs to understand incoming weather patterns.

5. Looks. I have a few watches now, and my preference is all over the place. I like minimalist watches right to complicated busy watches.

6. Size. I like a big watch, but smaller ones are just as good.

7. Movement. Once again, I like automatics just as much as a quarts.

I now have a few watches now, and I like them all. I am very happy I do not need to select one above all. I seriously think I would be unable to do that. What I can tell you...I feel naked without on.

The perfect watch doesn't exist. If it did, it should look like a Vacheron Constantin Tour de l'll, be unbreakable like a G-Shock, be waterproof down to U-Boat depth, never need charging, auto syncronizing time, calendar, weather and traffic info and news, have all time functions (world, alarm, timer, chrono, appointments), voice recognition and speech to text, GPS, altimeter, barometer, hygrometer, thermometer, gyroscope, compass, have many watch face choices (including mimicking classic designs like Rolex, Ulysses Nardin, Casio, Suunto, Mondaine etc), matching any attire and everything.
For the moment, the Samsung Galaxy Watch comes close in most of the terms.

While I can fully appreciate luxury watches I don't want to adjust anything on my watch after the initial set up.  I want to be able to read time in complete darkness if needs be.  I want accuracy since accuracy is attainable.  I want access to other features without a complicated dial.  I want access to other features with a press of a button.  I don't want to have to send it in for any services.

I don't know if there's such a thing as a "perfect watch", but the G-Shock Riseman was pretty great and set the stage for the master of G series as a rugged-yet-somehow-goodlooking watch. I've since retired it, but I'm wondering how many people here wore/wear it?

I like an analog watch. easy to set, not a PITA to deal with.  Some digitals, like my old Armitron, are set up to where it's total mayhem to try to simply set the time. But I do think I need a G-Shock. I was recommended them by a friend of mine as a preteen, but haven't got one yet. And I do love the stopwatch and timer functions when I need them. Of course, there is overkill; like a Databank. But those are cool too.
